Thanks Be Unto The Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs,

So we pour out our praise,

We pour out our praise.

Great Are You Lord!

These words from one of my favorite praise and worship songs pretty much sums up how I feel this Thanksgiving.  I fall on my knees in praise of the Lord, thanking Him for all He has blessed me with.  I will thank the Lord with all my heart; I will declare all Your wonderful works. Psalm 9:1  Many could look at my life and ask why would I thank Him.  That always makes me grin just a little because I realize they just don’t get it.  Then it makes me sad because I realize, they just don’t get it.  Whatever you have been dealt in life, you cannot forget that God is still on the throne, and everything is part of His great plan.  Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7  

We do not always understand how some things could possibly be part of God’s plan.  Sometimes we are even mad at God.  It’s okay.  We don’t have to understand God’s plan.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. Isaiah 55:8  How could we possibly think we could understand God?  Seems a bit arrogant when you think about it.  We are talking about a being whose existence always has been, is, and will be.  The idea of a ‘plan’ means that there must be time in which to implement and fulfill.  Time itself is a concept the Lord Himself created.  I know there are many highly educated individuals that will argue here using large philosophizing words and reasons…just shut up.  I don’t care how many letters of the alphabet you have behind your name, you are wrong.  You are thinking of time in a human sense.  God exists on a plane that we cannot comprehend.  He saw you…you…before the foundations of the world were even created (by Him by-the-way).   For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, Ephesians 1:4  God sees past, present, and future in a way that we cannot understand.  All aspects of time are present to Him.  Mind blown?  Yep.  It’s called FAITH boys and girls.  All that you attempt to understand about God and His plan, and yet cannot, must be accepted on FAITH.  It’s a beautiful thing.

Thank you dear Lord for sending Your Son so I may have a path to salvation.  Thank you dear Lord for my salvation.  Thank you dear Lord for my husband, my children, and my whole family.  Thank you dear Lord for my church.  Thank you dear Lord for my many wonderful friends.  Thank you dear Lord for my health.  Thank you dear Lord for all the many, many blessings you have bestowed upon me for I am not worthy and You are so great.  It’s Your breath in my lungs, so I pour out my praise to You Lord.

Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. ¹⁷ And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:16-17
