Let God Lead Your Marriage

My husband and I just celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary.  I am so proud of that!  In our world today, I think it’s a huge accomplishment.  I would just love to tell you that our marriage has followed a path lined with chocolate kisses and rose petals, but that would be a lie.  We are just like anybody else.  We have had struggles and hardships that have tested our union.  Even though, we love each other deeply, it wasn’t until we realized we needed to put God first in our lives, that a divine calmness came over us.  We are both saved, but we had spent much of our lives together letting everything else in the world get in the way of our service to the Lord. No Greater Gift

Christmas is just such an awesome time!  The whole world seems to transform into a more wonderful place when it’s infected by the Christmas spirit.  There’s all the beautiful lights, spending time with family, decorating the tree, Christmas music, yada yada yada.  People just seem so much happier and friendlier during this time of year.  (For the most part). God’s Plan

Dear Lord,

Help me to have faith that You are in control of my life.  Help me to recognize Satan’s attempts to sabotage my faith.  Give me the strength to drive him out of my thoughts so my true focus can be on You.  Let me live to serve You, oh Lord!

In Jesus Precious Name,

Amen

Faith Is All I’ve Got

Let not your heart be troubled

Let faith carry the day

God’s grace is more than sufficient

Give all your cares away

Lessons learned the hard way

Senseless works for naught

When faith is all that’s needed

And faith is all I’ve got

The Resurrection

Woman, why are you weeping?

Woman, who are you seeking?

A broken heart, life in despair

A joyful heart, my teacher’s here

Go tell the brethren, so they will know

That I was here, and I must go

To our FATHER, ascending high

To our LORD’s, sweet bye and bye

Before I go, remember this

Feed my sheep, is what I wish

Remember all I’ve shown to be

Faith, Hope, and Love, a gift from me

This Foggy Morning

Many people would consider a day like this, dreary, depressing, or even scary.  I find it beautiful and fascinating.  When the clouds lower themselves to be in among us, it’s ethereal.  The bible gives us many instances where God has dwelt among His people via cloud. Just Do It!

If I worked all day, every day, for the rest of my life, it would never be enough.  I, in my imperfection, my sin, my absolute ‘humanness’ could never do enough.  No matter how pure my intentions, or how true my heart, I can never reach this pinnacle I thought I had to reach in order to be able to serve the Lord.  I can’t wait until I’ve finally reached this level of Nirvana, that does not exist, to serve God.  I have to serve Him now. Thanks Be Unto The Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs,

So we pour out our praise,

We pour out our praise.

Great Are You Lord!

These words from one of my favorite praise and worship songs pretty much sums up how I feel this Thanksgiving.  I fall on my knees in praise of the Lord, thanking Him for all He has blessed me with.  I will thank the Lord with all my heart; I will declare all Your wonderful works. Psalm 9:1  Many could look at my life and ask why would I thank Him.  That always makes me grin just a little because I realize they just don’t get it.  Then it makes me sad because I realize, they just don’t get it.  Whatever you have been dealt in life, you cannot forget that God is still on the throne, and everything is part of His great plan.  Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7   Continue reading Thanks Be Unto The Lord

Every Scar Tells A Story

When I was five years old I fell into a fire.  Most of my family was at my mamaw and papaw’s house in rural southeastern Oklahoma.  We had built a fire out in front of the property.  When the adults had retreated back towards the house, my older brothers and male cousins began jumping over the fire.  It was exciting to see them run and jump with the flames seemingly engulfing their legs.   Continue reading Every Scar Tells A Story

Have Thine Own Way

Have Thine own way Lord

Have Thine own way

Thou art the potter, I am the clay

Mold me and make me after Thy will

While I am waiting yielded and still

Lord, this is all I truly want.  For You to have Your will fulfilled in me.  Whatever You want me to do, wherever You want me to go, I want only that.  I am ready and willing to serve You, and I pray that You will use me to bring glory to Your great name.  Help me to know my calling.  To hear Your voice, and have no doubt.  To have the strength and the grace to pick up my cross and follow You.  These things I pray in Jesus Holy Name.

Amen
